About Us
The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization providing pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation. We render aid and assistance to over 22,000 people in Summit. Emergency Medical Services are provided at no charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all those in need. We respond to more than 2,300 emergency calls each year.

What do I do should I have a medical emergency?
In any emergency dial 9-1-1. An emergency response dispatcher will help you and notify the proper agencies. If you have a medical emergency, the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad will be dispatched immediately to your location.
Do you bill for your services?
The Summit Volunteer First Aid squad provides services free of charge. We serve the entire Summit community and no one is ever billed for ambulance transport. Make a donation today to sustain these vital services.
How is the Squad supported?
The Squad is funded entirely through donations. We do not receive tax dollars from the City of Summit or any other government agency. Our annual budget of $430,000 is met entirely through the generosity of the community we support. Join this community of supporters by making a donation today.
How is the Squad staffed?

Can anyone join the squad?
All you need to volunteer is a desire to serve. We provide all the training necessary to participate as an EMS responder. We also seek volunteers to help with the squad’s administrative functions. Lean more.
